About $260m out of the $600m stolen by hackers in the largest cryptocurrency heists, has been returned.
Gatekeepers News earlier reported that the Poly Network said hackers exploited a vulnerability in its system and took thousands of digital tokens such as Ether.
On Tuesday, in a letter posted on Twitter, Poly Network urged the thieves to “establish communication and return the hacked assets”.
The hackers who claimed to be “not very interested in money”, assured via messages that the funds will be returned.
Poly Network on Wednesday confirmed that it had received $260m back.
The crypto platform said three cryptocurrencies, including $3.3m worth of Ethereum, $256m worth of Binance Smart Chain (BSC) and $1m worth of Polygon, have been sent back.
Gatekeepers News gathered that a total of $269m in Ethereum tokens and $84m in Polygon tokens are yet to be recovered.
