Foundation for Aspiring Youths in Ethical Leadership has commenced the training of Agbede teenagers and youths on social impact.
Gatekeepers News reports that the Foundation for Aspiring Youths in Ethical Leadership has commenced a six-month social impact fellowship for Senior Secondary students and school leavers who reside in the Agbede area of Ikorodu, Lagos State Southwest Nigeria.
The empowerment which commenced last weekend is in collaboration with the leadership of the Community Development Associations, CDAs in the area and will focus on Career Guidance, Ethical Leadership, Counseling, Entrepreneurship among others.
The Founder of FYL, Taiwo Akorede at the opening ceremony said the initiative is part of efforts to help groom the youths towards the right decisions making as they are the leaders of today.
Akorede added that it would also instill the necessary skills required of the youths to thrive despite their backgrounds, race, or status in life.
The CDA Chairman of the nine communities in Agbede, Hussein Rasheed Adebola, expressed his support for the initiative, noting that the programme would be an avenue for self-development for the youths.
Adebola applauded the Foundation for reaching out regardless of the current situation in the country.
He, therefore, admonished parents to support the initiative by sending their wards for the programme.
Fifty students/youths are expected to be trained at end of the first set of the training which will span six months. The method of the training is participatory where participants are allowed to evaluate themselves.
