Arsenal have beaten West Ham to seat on the fourth position on the Premier League table.
Gatekeepers News reports that Arsenal have overtaken their opponents West Ham and moved into fourth place in the Premier League in a thrilling game at Emirates Stadium.
Gabriel Martinelli launched the scoreline early in the second half, while substitute Emile Smith Rowe confirmed the victory for the Gunners late on.
Although Alexandre Lacazette who got the cap band following the stripping of Aubameyang had a penalty, it got saved by goalkeeper Lukasz Fabianski in the second half.
Meanwhile, West Ham who were at a goal deficit, got short a man after Vladimir Coufal was sent off for a second booking in conceding the penalty as he was judged to have fouled Lacazette in the box.
Coufal was initially booked in the first half when his flailing arm caught defender Kieran Tierney in the face, which incited protest from the Gunners players.
Arsenal would have finished with more goals if Tierney’s shot hadn’t hit the crossbar, and further chances from Martinelli, Bukayo Saka, and Gabriel were fruitful.
Despite a strong start to the season, West Ham have won just one of their last six games in the Premier League and are now just three points clear of Tottenham in seventh.
Meanwhile, will United who are currently in the sixth position have had their Tuesday fixture against Brentford postponed due to COVID-19.
