Chelsea have lost their third consecutive FA cup after Liverpool defeated them in a dramatic penalty shoot-out to make history on Saturday night.
Gatekeepers News reports that Liverpool have defeated Chelsea to win the FA Cup for the first time since 2006 as the quadruple chasers kept their history bid alive on Saturday.
Although the hard-fought final had finished a 0-0 draw after extra-time, Jurgen Klopp’s side won 6-5 on penalties at Wembley.
This is the second time Liverpool have emerged victorious against Chelsea on penalties this season. The Reds earlier beat the Blues 11-10 following another 0-0 draw in the League Cup final in February.
Saturday’s victory keeps Liverpool in the hunt to become the first English team to win all four major trophies in a single season.
Having secured two prizes, the Reds will hope for a slip from Premier League leaders Manchester City, who are just three points ahead of them in the league with two games left for both teams.
Klopp’s men are also looking forward to claiming the Champions League title if only they defeat Real Madrid in the final in Paris on May 28.
