Stella Adaeze Oduah has highlighted some of her achievements as Senator representing Anambra North in a new month message.
Gatekeepers News reports that Oduah, in a statement she personally signed on August 1, said she hopes to achieve greater feats in the new month of August as she listed her achievements in the preceding months.
“Some of our achievements include the commissioning and handing over of keys to the houses built for indigent widows across the district. Specifically, I had the honour of handing over these keys in Onitsha North to two widows, Mrs Maryanne Aduba and Mrs Obianamma Oniah and to be honest, nothing comes close to describing the joy I felt knowing that God chose and used me to put an everlasting smile on not just their faces but the faces of their many dependants and families.
In the preceding months, we also continued our free medical outreach programs which as you well know, we recently upgraded to a monthly affair as opposed to quarterly and the feedback I receive of indigent constituents in all 7 LGA’S availing themselves of this free exercise remains gratifying.
Our OME OGO half-hour program on Sapientia 95.3 FM, Onitsha which weekly picks out beneficiaries for grants, has not just changed lives but has also created further cemented the bond I share with constituents and I enjoin everyone to tune in and participate every Friday by 4 PM.
We also continued on our EGO MBIDO AFIA empowerment initiative, and over 5,000 indigent petty traders and market women have benefited to add to a growing list of beneficiaries over the years.
We also continued our valuable skills acquisition training programs across the district and it is my prayer that benefiting constituents, apply all they have learned to positively impact all their endeavours and society at large.
Our nursing school training scholarship initiative also took off in earnest and in fact, the first batch of 70 shortlisted applicants, wrote their entrance examinations for admission into nursing school and definitely, the next batch would sit for theirs in the coming weeks.
We also commenced the scholarship initiative for nursing assistants and as we speak, registration is still ongoing and in no time, the list of successful applicants would be released.
In the National Assembly, I fought and ensured that my bill for the establishment of a Federal Medical Center in Onitsha was passed alongside those of other selected states and I’m particularly pleased with this feat for it will afford constituents living in and around Onitsha, the opportunity to access the kinds of world-class medical healthcare they hitherto would have to travel long distances to access.
With all these achievements, we expect nothing short of greater feats in this month of August and it is my prayer that the good Lord blesses us with good health and prosperity.
Remember, our UNITY UNDER 17 Football tournament is still ongoing and only yesterday, Onitsha South beat Onitsha North 1-2 in a fiercely contested game at the Chinụa Achebe Stadium, fegge, Onitsha South LGA.
