Magistrate’s court sitting in Federal Capital Territory, Abuja, has remanded Prof Zainab Duke Abiola, alongside her domestic staff for assaulting police orderly, Inspector Teju Moses, attached to her.
Gatekeepers News reports that the Inspector-General of Police, Usman Baba, condemned the alleged assault of a policewoman by the academic and her domestic staff including the housemaid, Rebecca Enechido, and a male suspect currently at large.
The victim claimed that Don, an activist, grievously assaulted her in the company of some accomplices on Tuesday, September 20, 2022, at her residence in Garki, Abuja, due to her (policewoman) refusal to breach professional ethics by carrying out menial and domestic chores at her house.
Duke-Abiola was, however, denied bail at the court on Friday and the matter was adjourned till October 5, 2022.
The magistrate also ordered that the lecturer should be remanded in Suleja Prison pending the adjourned date.
