Twitter owner, Elon Musk has killed the ‘official’ checkmark for high-profile accounts just hours after the microblogging site started to roll it out.
Gatekeepers News reports that the decision came a day after Twitter said that it would denote high-profile accounts in a way distinctive from the blue checkmark, which is now available to all Twitter Blue subscribers.
The new badges had begun to appear on accounts up until American Youtuber and Ultimate Frisbee player, Marques Brownlee quoted a previous tweet of his saying, “Update: It’s now gone”.
Musk replied the tweet, “I just killed It”.
The Twitter CEO also tweeted that the platform will experience a lot of new things in the coming months and only favourable changes will remain.
