Reactions As Tinubu Calls Messi 'Emi Lo Kan Of Doha'

Bola Tinubu, the Presidential Candidate of the All Progressives Congress (APC), has reacted to Argentina’s World Cup victory as he referred to Lionel Messi as the “Emi lo kan of Doha”.

Gatekeepers News reports that ‘Emi lo kan’ is a Yoruba phrase that means “it is my turn”. The saying has become synonymous with Tinubu. A few days before the APC presidential primary election, Tinubu sparked controversy when he said (Emi lo kan), meaning it was his turn to be President.

Tinubu, via his Twitter page, posted an edited picture of Messi in his signature regalia with the caption “Emi lo kan of Doha”.

The tweet has been greeted with mixed reactions. While some concurred with the former Governor of Lagos State, others saw it as an opportunity to take a swipe at him.
