Twitter’s new boss, Elon Musk, has said he will resign as the Chief Executive Officer of the micro-blogging company when he finds someone “foolish enough to take the job”.

Gatekeepers News reports that Musk had tweeted a poll via his verified handle on Monday asking tweeps to vote on whether he should step down as Twitter’s CEO, adding that he would abide by the poll’s results.

“Should I step down as head of Twitter? I will abide by the results of this poll,” he had asked Twitter users when he launched the poll.

According to the result of the poll,  57.5 percent of Twitter users voted “Yes” while 42.5% of users want Musk to continue the job.

In a tweet on Wednesday morning, Musk said he would resign when he finds someone “foolish enough to take the job” and still run the software and servers teams.

“I will resign as CEO as soon as I find someone foolish enough to take the job! After that, I will just run the software and servers teams,” Musk tweeted.

Meanwhile, Musk replied to tweets on Monday concerning his successor if people ended up ‘voting’ him ou

“No one wants the job who can actually keep Twitter alive. There is no successor,” he tweeted.

Musk also indicated that the problem won’t be finding a CEO but one who can actually do a good job. “The question is not finding a CEO, the question is finding a CEO who can keep Twitter alive,” he said in another tweet.

“As the saying goes, be careful what you wish, as you might get it,” he tweeted.
