Senator representing Anambra North, Stella Oduah has reacted to the arrest of certain police officers serving in the Anambra State Police Command who were accused of extra-judicial killings in the State.
Gatekeepers News reports that Oduah who explained that she was shocked to her bone marrow over the weighty allegations leveled against the police officers, described it as horrific and unfortunate.
She commended the blog, Gistloversgram that brought the issue to the limelight and also applauded the force headquarters for its prompt response.
Oduah in a statement she signed on Sunday, wrote, “Anambra is home to one of the most beautiful, humane, and industrious set of human beings and we are a people not given to encouraging or condoning the shedding of innocent blood.
“I am encouraged by the prompt intervention of the Police IG and retain no doubts that he and his team, will leave no stone unturned to get to the root of the matter.
“As enshrined in our constitution, I shall be monitoring and waiting for the alleged crimes to be proven beyond reasonable doubt whilst sincerely sympathizing with families said to be affected.”
