On the other hand, City who defeated their major rival, Arsenal on Wednesday were unable to hold on to the momentum, having played a 1-1 draw against Nottingham Forest.
In other news, Chelsea have continued to struggle in their 2022/2023 EPL campaign, despite spending over £300 million in the January transfer window.
On Saturday, the Blues were silenced by the relegation-threatened Southampton having suffered a 1-0 at the Stamford Bridge.
Meanwhile, Manchester United have continued to prove their consistency in their quest for the EPL title. The Reds defeated Leicester City 3-0 at Old Trafford on Sunday.
Nevertheless, Erik Ten Hag men have remained third on the table, three points below No. 2 Manchester City and five points below No. 1 Arsenal.
