Tragic news shakes the academic world as Professor Emeritus Umaru Shehu CON, CFR, a distinguished Nigerian scholar in the field of Medicine, has passed away at the age of 92.
Gatekeepers News reports that the respected professor breathed his last in Maiduguri, Borno State.
Throughout his illustrious career, Prof. Emeritus Umaru Shehu held numerous prestigious positions, leaving an indelible mark on the Nigerian educational landscape.
He served as the Vice-Chancellor of the University of Nigeria Nsukka, Deputy Vice-Chancellor and Pro-Vice-Chancellor at ABU Zaria, and held the esteemed role of Pro-Chancellor and Chairman of the Governing Council at both BUK and UNILAG.
Additionally, he served as the Sole Administrator of UNIMAID, among many other significant contributions to the academic community.
