Senate has confirmed three more Resident Electoral Commissioners (RECs) of the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC).
Gatekeepers News reports that the nominees were among the 10 RECs earlier appointed by President Bola Tinubu and forwarded to the Senate for confirmation.
The RECs; Bunmi Omoseyindemi (Lagos), Abubakar Dambo (Zamfara), and Anugbum Onuoha (Rivers), were confirmed after they were screened by Senators in the upper legislative chamber on Thursday.
Senate majority leader, Opeyemi Bamidele moved the motion for their confirmation.
The seven nominees screened and confirmed on Wednesday are Isah Shaka Ehimeakne (Edo), Oluwatoyin Babalola (Ekiti), Abubakar Ahmed Ma’aji (Gombe), Shehu Wahab (Kwara), Aminu Idris (Nasarawa), Mohammed Sadiq (Niger), and Etekamba Umoren (Akwa Ibom) – an ally of Senate President Godswill Akpabio.
