First Lady, Senator Oluremi Tinubu, has called on women across the country to work towards ending domination of women in the society.
Gatekeepers News reports that the charge was delivered during a sensitization meeting with the wives of local government chairmen and overseers of development areas in Nasarawa State.
Represented by Nasarawa State’s First Lady, Mrs. Silifat Abdullahi Sule, Senator Tinubu introduced the Renewed Hope Initiative, urging government officials, especially women, to implement the program at the local level.
The initiative, a pet project of Nigeria’s First Lady, aims to provide relief and support to vulnerable women and girls across the country.
The primary focus of the Renewed Hope Initiative encompasses areas such as quality education, healthcare, social investment, economic development, and agriculture.
Mrs. Sule emphasized the importance of collaborative efforts to ensure the success of the initiative, particularly in addressing the challenges faced by women and the girl child at the grassroots level.
Commissioner for Women Affairs and Social Development, Mrs. Aisha Rufai Ibrahim, and delegation leader Mrs. Zainab Aminu Maifata pledged their support for the initiative, highlighting the crucial role of government support in alleviating the hardships faced by women and the girl child.
