Manchester City scored twice in quick succession to scrape a 2-1 victory against Luton Town in their English Premier League (EPL) match on Sunday.
Gatekeepers News reports that the champions, without striker Erling Haaland, had conceded on the stroke of halftime. Elijah Adebayo had given Luton the lead.
But two goals in three minutes from Bernardo Silva and Jack Grealish ensured City returned to winning ways.
Silva cancelled the deficit with a curling effort on 62 minutes before Grealish finished off Julian Alvarez’s low cross three minutes later to secure the win.
The victory ended a four-match winless run for Man City. The champions are now in fourth place with 33 points from 16 matches, closing the gap on league leaders Liverpool to four points.
Elsewhere, Chelsea’s poor season continued with a 2-0 loss against Everton, conceding both goals in the second half.
Goals from Abdoulaye Doucoure and substitute Lewis Dobbin consigned Mauricio Pochettino’s side to their seventh loss of the season. The Blues also drop to 11th position after 16 matches.
