The New Nigeria Peoples Party (NNPP) has secured two seats in the Kano State House of Assembly by-elections.
Gatekeepers News reports that Shehu Galadanchi, the returning officer, who declared Zakariya Ishaq of NNPP as the winner in the Kura/Garun Malam constituency, polling 37,262 votes, while Musa Daurawa of the All Progressives Congress (APC) came second with 30,803 votes.
The court of appeal had ordered a rerun election in 20 polling units in the Kura/Garun Malam state constituency in Kano.
In the Rimin Gado/Tofa state constituency, Bello Butu-Butu of NNPP won with 31,135 votes, defeating the closest challenger who garnered 25,577 votes.
The court of appeal had also directed the electoral body to conduct a rerun election in 33 polling units in the Rimin Gado/Tofa state constituency of Kano.
