Former Accountant-General of the Federation (AGF), Jonah Ogunniyi Otunla, has passed away at an undisclosed hospital in the United Kingdom.
Gatekeepers News reports that Otunla, who was born on June 12, 1955, died a few days after his 69th birthday.
According to reports, he had recently travelled to the United Kingdom for treatment of an undisclosed ailment.
He reportedly passed away on Monday, June 17.
Otunla hailed from Irawo in ATISBO local government area of Oyo state, Nigeria.
He completed his secondary education at Baptist High School, Saki in 1972 and obtained a bachelor’s degree in Financial Accounting from the University of Ife (now Obafemi Awolowo University).
The deceased became a chartered accountant in 1986 and was awarded the fellowship of the Institute of Chartered Accountants of Nigeria (ICAN) in 1998.
