Dayo Adeneye, co-founder of Kennis Music, has shared the secrets to his enduring friendship with Kenny Ogungbe, which has spanned over four decades.

Gatekeepers News reports that in a recent interview with Teju Babyface, Adeneye revealed that their bond, which began in college, has been sustained through mutual support, contentment, and a commitment to prioritizing their friendship above personal ambitions.

“Keke and I have known each other for over 40 years, going on 50 years now. As a matter of fact, we graduated on the same day, both our undergraduate and graduate,” Adeneye said, highlighting the depth of their friendship.

Adeneye and Ogungbe’s relationship has been built on a foundation of trust, with Adeneye emphasising that “what is yours is mine, and what’s mine is yours.”

This mindset has helped them navigate any disagreements that may arise, with Adeneye noting that “we’ve never taken things out of context. We are both contented individuals. We aspire for a lot in life but not at the expense of our friendship.”

The duo’s friendship has been a cornerstone of their successful music careers, with their record label, Kennis Music, playing a significant role in shaping the Nigerian music industry.

Adeneye and Ogungbe have received several recognitions for their contributions, including induction into the Hip-Hop World Hall of Fame at the 2006 Headies.
