An explosion rocked the Secretariat of Action People’s Party in Rivers State in the early hours of Monday.
Gatekeepers News reports that the incident occurred at the state office of the party located along GRA axis of Port Harcourt.
According to reports, a detonated dynamite went off, and that heavy sound was heard around 1 am.
Although there’s no clear information on the cause of the incident as at press time, the development may not be unconnected with leadership crisis in the state.
It was learnt that some bandits believed to be political thugs detonated dynamite into the building housing the secretariat and that the accompanying explosion shattered the windows and doors, as well as destroying other property of the party.
The explosion also damaged ceiling and fittings in the building leaving leadership and members of the party in panic.
