Court of Appeal in Abuja has reaffirmed the nomination of Asue Ighodalo as Governorship Candidate of People’s Democratic Party(PDP) in Edo State.
Gatekeepers News reports that the suit marked CA/ABJ/CV/763/2024 was between PDP, Hon. Kevin Mohammed, and five other members of the party.
The presiding judge, Justice U.A Musali in his ruling, held that the February 22 primaries of PDP in Edo State, which produced Dr Asue Ighodalo as Governorship Candidate of PDP was validly and lawfully conducted.
Justice Musali affirmed Dr. Asue Ighodalo as the rightful candidate of PDP in the forthcoming September 21st Guber Election in Edo State.
The Court held that the Plaintiffs in the lower court (before Ekwo J) were delegates and not aspirants, so the subject was within the Internal Affairs of the Party.
The judge added that the delegates were not aspirants and had no locus to bring this suit, and the court had no jurisdiction to hear the matter.
