Nigerian footballer, Victor Osimhen has been excluded from Napoli’s squad list for 2024/25 Serie A season.
Gatekeepers News reports that Osimhen couldn’t be found on tmofficial list of the team’s squad submitted to leagues website.
According ti reports; Osimhen’s jersey number nine has been handed to Romelu Lukaku, Belgian footballer who recently joined Napoli from Chelsea.
The development which led to a broken relationship between the Suoer Eagles striker and the club’s leadership comes after his transfer plans failed to come through during the just-concluded transfer window.
The striker’s protracted negotiation with Chelsea and Al-Ahli of Saudi Arabia failed at the final stage.
Napoli’s new manager, Antonio Conte consistently said the striker will not be part of his plan for the season, though his contract with the club will end in summer of 2026.
Osimhen has been missing from the team’s matchday squad list this season.
