Nollywood actress Ojumola Bello has broken the Guinness World Record (GWR) for the longest acting marathon.
Gatekeepers News reports that the actress began the competition on Tuesday, September 22, 2024, and ended it on Friday, September 27, 2024.
The event was held at Pent View Hotel in Ikorodu.
The actress achieved the fest by acting for 139 hours and 19 minutes non-stop.
Fellow actors and friends rallied around her, offering encouragement and support throughout her record-breaking attempt.
Some of her colleagues like Odunlade Adekola, Ijeshaekun, Bimbo Adebayo, Rotimi Salami and Bukunmi Oluwasina showed support by sharing videos of the event online.
Disappointed by the industry’s lack of support, Bukunmi Oluwasina took to her official Instagram page to criticise colleagues for not supporting Jumola on her journey to breaking the record.
She added that colleagues only support those who can benefit them later and urged them to show support, even through social media posts, noting that “a win for one is a win for all.”
She wrote, “realojumolabello started a journey 5 days ago, attempting @guinnessworldrecords Longest Acting on stage. She hasn’t slept and is very exhausted. And based on what is said, she has reached out to a lot of us before and during this journey. It was her last day and she had even exceeded the acting hour, but only two colleagues showed up to show support.”
“And No, let’s not pretend we didn’t even know about it. We do. You do. A lot of public figures have been tagged. And again, let’s not say, “I don’t think I know her.” No, you do. 99% of those who have worked with @iteledicon01 know her; she is a fantastic Actor, writer, Continuity, and even Directs once in a while.”
“At least if you can’t show up, post. As much as I love to just stay and mind my business, I find it heartbreaking. I do not see any growth in a place where the only people we support, show up for, or show love are the only people we know we might need later. That’s not love. That’s not support. That’s a complete emotional transaction.”
“How about loving and supporting people who can’t do Anything for you, too, ONCE IN A WHILE? I know it’s a busy period, and a lot of people have things doing. But out of your busy days, you still show up for people that you will need later.”
“If it was a celebrity that attempted this, it wouldn’t be like this. This lady has been in the industry for years. If not b4 me self.
“Please let’s show support. Please! Please!! Please!!!”
