House of Representatives Joint Committee on Financial Crimes and Reformatory Institutions, will today, hear testimonies from Bobrisky, VeryDarkMan, EFCC Chairman Ola Olukoyode, and Nigerian Correctional Service (NCoS) Controller-General Haliru Nababa.
Gatekeepers News reports that the bribery allegation stems from an audio recording shared by VeryDarkMan, where Bobrisky allegedly claimed to have bribed EFCC officials with N15 million to drop a money laundering charge. Bobrisky was sentenced to six months in prison for abusing the naira but was released on August 5.
In the recording, Bobrisky also claimed her “godfather” and Nababa ensured she served the sentence in a private apartment instead of prison. However, Bobrisky later denied the bribery claim, calling the recording “fake”.
Deji Adeyanju, VeryDarkMan’s lawyer, confirmed his client’s appearance before the committee, stating, “We will be at the National Assembly tomorrow with our client @thatverydarkman to assist in investigation into allegations by Bobrisky that he/she paid N15m to have money laundering charges dropped by EFCC and also bribed prison officials to stay in an apartment”.
The joint committee has asked Olukoyode and Nababa to appear with all officers involved in the allegation today, Monday.
