All Progressive Congress (APC) has dismissed report currently circulating on various social media platforms, alleging a rift within the leadership of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in Edo State.

Gatekeepers News reports that the “false narrative” claims there is tension over the sharing of cabinet positions in the incoming administration of Senator Monday Okpebholo as Governor of Edo State.

Former Governor of Edo state, Senator Adams Aliyu Eric Oshiomhole on behalf of the party, dismissed the report through a statement released by his Chief of Staff Office, Hon. Victor Oshioke.

The statement reads, “Ordinarily, such absurd and defeat-driven falsehoods would be dismissed without an official response, because we have no doubt that such baseless allegations can only originate from the devastated and disoriented ranks of the Edo State Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), who remain in shock following their resounding loss in the September 21, 2024 governorship election. In their desperation to create chaos.”

According to the senator; Edo State PDP has resorted to merchandising lies and abject falsehoods.

Oshiomhole noted that the party had to set the records straight to prevent the misinterpretation of its silence as agreement with the “concocted stories”.

The statement added, “For the avoidance of doubt, there is no rift between Senator Adams Aliyu Oshiomhole and any other APC leader in Edo State.”

As a former governor of Edo State, Senator Oshiomhole fully understands and respects the need for the incoming governor to have complete freedom in choosing his team, without interference or pressure.”

“Also, he has full confidence in Senator Monday Okpebholo’s capacity to select capable and experienced individuals within the APC who will help him fulfil his promise of good governance and development for the people of Edo State.”

“The false claims attributed to Comrade Oshiomhole or his so called loyalists are entirely fabricated and should be disregarded.”

Addressing those APC members who might be misled by these falsehoods, Senator Oshiomhole advised that the Governor-elect and his deputy should be given the space to assemble their team and execute their mandate.

Senator Oshiomhole further called on all APC stakeholders in Edo State to be magnanimous in victory, be focused on the task ahead, and get prepared to give necessary support to the incoming administration in providing all Edo people with a responsible and responsive government which regrettably, they have been denied for the past 8 years.
