Controversial activist, Martins Vincent Otse popularly known as VeryDarkMan’s lawyer, Deji Adeyanju has revealed that his client has been detained by Nigerian Police.
Gatekeepers News reports that this comes after VDM posted a video of himself. He said he was going to the police station in Abuja to honour an invitation by the force over his use of the police uniform with the rank meant for a chief superintendent of police (CSP) in a viral video on social media.
He also posted another video on Instagram, noting that he had just returned from the police station, where he was interrogated.
The activist said he didn’t intend to impersonate the police and urged the public to seek permission from law enforcement agencies before using police uniforms.
Adedanju said VeryDarkMan was detained after honouring the police invitation despite cooperating with the force.
He said, “Our client, VDM, has been detained after honouring the police invitation just like yesterday. VDM has consistently said the Nigerian Police are our friends even when we all know they are not.
