Rosemary Oromoni, the mother of late Sylvester Oromoni, is dead.
Gatekeepers News reports that Rosemary died in November after a prolonged battle with a blood pressure-related illness, the cable quoted family sources.
Her 12-year-old son, Sylvester, who was a student at Dowen College in Lagos, died on November 30, 2021. His death sparked nationwide outrage, with his parents alleging that he was bullied, beaten, and forced to ingest a chemical substance by five schoolmates. However, the school vehemently denied these claims.
The case led to a protracted legal battle, with the family seeking justice against Dowen College and the accused students. Unfortunately, in April 2024, a Lagos court ruled that Sylvester’s death was due to sepsis caused by an infection resulting from an ankle injury, exonerating the school and the accused parties.
Rosemary was particularly vocal about her dissatisfaction with the judgment, insisting that critical evidence was ignored during the inquiry.
Her health reportedly deteriorated following the legal setback and the emotional toll of losing her son under such controversial circumstances.
