Gov. Buni Commissions Landmark Projects Constructed By Zulum-led Administration In Borno

Wednesday, December 11th will go down memory lane as a significant day for Yobe State Governor, Hon Mai Mala Buni as he was welcomed to Borno State with pomp and pageantry where he took ample time to Commission Landmark Housing and road projects that have a direct positive impact on the lives of Borno State residents.

Gatekeepers News reports that a large crowd including top government functionaries hurried to the city gate in the morning on the outskirts of Maiduguri, the state capital to receive Hon Buni whose job was to Inaugurate some people-oriented projects.

Leading other top government officials, the Borno State Governor, Prof Babagana Zulum personally oversaw the lineup of dignitaries who besieged the city gate to welcome their August visitor- Hon Buni.

After waiting for about twenty minutes, a long motorcade conveying the Yobe state Governor, Hon Buni and his entourage arrived at the city gate where Governor Zulum exchanged warm pleasantries with his counterpart before proceeding to commission the 500 Units Housing Estate located at Njimtilo, a short distance from the city gate.

The Yobe state Governor also commissioned the Borno Express Flyover, the Shehu Sanda Kura dualised township road and the 201 Metro Housing Estate. Hon Buni showered encomium on his host for carrying projects that are geared towards transforming the state.

Hon Buni recalled the age-long ties between Borno and Yobe states and stated that the development strides being executed by Governor Zulum are also a source of pride to the people of neighbouring Yobe state.

” As we are all aware, Borno and Yobe states have always been one. We are a people bound by the same culture and tradition that are simply demarcated for administrative convenience.

“We have always identified with one another and shared the good and the challenging moments. We have also shared the sad and unfortunate insurgency security challenge which claimed many precious lives, displaced millions of our people, and destroyed critical infrastructures, drawing us many years backwards.

“Today, Borno and Yobe states are both striving to emerge out of that challenge by adopting the Rehabilitation, Reconstruction and Recovery programme.

“I am indeed glad to see that we are moving so fast to improve the conditions of our people to live with dignity.” The Yobe State Governor said.

Hon Buni also appreciated his host for naming the newly commissioned 500 Units Housing at Njimtilo after him stating that he’s looking forward to inviting the Borno State Governor to commission projects in Yobe state.

” l am extending my warm invitation to Your Excellency, my dear brother, to the commissioning ceremony of some legacy projects executed by our administration to improve the lives of our people, soon. Hon Buni said.

The Borno State Governor had emphasized that Njimtilo Housing Units, Metro Housing Units, the Borno Express Flyover, and the dualization of Shehu Sanda Kura Road are designed to enhance the quality of life for residents, improve traffic flow and boost economic activities.

“Borno Express Flyover is an iconic structure that will revolutionize transportation in our state, thereby reducing travel time and providing a safer commuting experience,” the governor added.

Governor Zulum pledged continued dedication to infrastructure development as part of his administration’s urban and rural renewal efforts.
