A Rivers State High Court sitting in Port Harcourt has nullified the recent Congresses of All Progressives Congress (APC) held in the state which elected Chief Tony Okocha as the state Chairman.

Gatekeepers News reports that Court decision came after a contempt suit filed by a faction of the party led by Chief Emeka Beke.

Before this, the court had issued an order stopping APC from conducting the congresses, but the party defied the order.

The embattled members of the party who had secured the earlier court order, returned to court to notify it that the party had defied the court order and went ahead to conduct the congresses.

The presiding judge, Justice Godswill Obomanu then declared the congresses of the party null and void.
