Oriyomi Hamzat, the CEO of Agidigbo FM, has been released after fulfilling the conditions of his bail.
Gatekeepers News reports that along with him, Naomi Silekunola, the former wife of the Ooni of Ife, and Fasasi Abdullahi, the principal of Islamic High School in Basorun, Ibadan, were also granted bail on Monday.
Each individual was required to pay a bail amount of N10 million and present two sureties in the same amount.
The three individuals are currently facing trial in connection with a stampede that occurred during a funfair in Ibadan in December, which tragically resulted in the deaths of more than 30 people, primarily children.
Following his release, a video shared on social media platform X showed Hamzat addressing a group of supporters who were celebrating his freedom.
“Oriyomi is back! I’m in a time of reflection, so I’ll remain silent for now. Thank you very much; I’m truly grateful. You may take your leave,” he said in Yoruba.
