Liverpool have been paired with Paris Saint-Germain (PSG) in the 2024/25 UEFA Champions League (UCL) second round.
Gatekeepers News reports that the the draw, held in Nyon, Switzerland, marks the first time the two teams have met since the 2018/19 UCL group stage, when Liverpool went on to win the European championship.
Liverpool qualified for the round of 16 by topping their league phase group, while PSG advanced through a play-off, defeating Brest 10-0 on aggregate. The winner of the Liverpool-PSG clash will face either Aston Villa or Club Brugge in the quarter-finals.
Other notable matchups in the round of 16 include the Madrid Derby between Real Madrid and Atletico Madrid, as well as Arsenal vs. PSV Eindhoven. Bayern Munich will face Bayer Leverkusen, while Barcelona takes on Benfica.
The first leg of the second-round games will be played on March 4 and 5, with the return legs scheduled for a week later.
