Former presidential candidate Omoyele Sowore, along with a legal team, met on Monday with Ushie Rita Uguamaye, known as Raye, a member of the National Youth Service Corps (NYSC) and accompanied her to the office of her Local Government Inspector (LGI) over a viral video in which she criticised President Bola Tinubu’s administration.

Gatekeepers News reports that in a TikTok video posted on her account, #talktoraye, Raye expressed her dissatisfaction with Nigeria’s declining economic conditions, attributing the difficulties to President Tinubu’s leadership. She also referred to the president as a “terrible leader.”

In another viral video, Raye claimed that she was facing threats from NYSC officials following her remarks. She was called in for questioning by her Local Government Inspector.

Raye received support from several prominent political figures, including Sowore and other legal practitioners.

Sowore posted a video on his X handle on Monday with the caption: “The journey with youth Corper, Ushie Rita Uguamaye, has commenced in Lagos. She is scheduled to appear before the LGI (Local Government Inspector) Monday and we will escort her to their offices. We are all en route with attorneys.”

However, Sowore reported that the NYSC officials did not attend the scheduled meeting.
