Muslim Public Affairs Centre (MPAC) has expressed deep sorrow over the passing of Dr. Mustapha Alimi, the Medical Director of National Orthopaedic Hospital, Igbobi, Lagos, and a member of Advisory Council of Sakinah Medical Outreach.
Gatekeepers News reports that the group in a statement by its executive chairman, Disu Kamor, said Dr. Alimi, a dedicated medical professional and humanitarian, was known for his selfless service to Islam and the Muslim community in Nigeria.
It added, “His contributions to the Muslim Ummah in Nigeria, particularly through the Islamic Medical Association (IMAN), have been immeasurable. His tireless efforts to provide healthcare services to the needy, promote Islamic values, and foster unity among Muslims reflect in the great impact he has left on many organizations, including Sakinah Medical Outreach.”
The organisation described Dr. Alimi as an exceptional individual whose legacy of service will continue to inspire generations.
“As we mourn this great loss, we take comfort in the words of Allah (SWT):
It cited a Qur’an verse as comfort comfort in the words of Allah “Every soul shall taste death, and only on the Day of Judgment will you be paid your full recompense.’ (Quran 3:185).”
MPAC prayed for Allah’s mercy upon Dr. Alimi, seeking forgiveness for his shortcomings and a place for him in Jannah (Paradise).
The organization extended condolences to his family, friends, and the wider Muslim community, urging them to find solace in the knowledge that his impact will live on.
It added, “May Allah forgive his shortcomings, accept his good deeds, and grant him an abode in Paradise.”
