ARISE News Television hosted Arise Gala for Women Making Impact to celebrate International Women’s Month 2025 on Monday night.
Gatekeepers News reports that the glamorous awards night held at Eko Convention Center was to celebrate women whose achievements are reshaping Nigeria’s future.
Eighty (80) remarkable women from different sectors including politics, business, healthcare, media, arts, and technology were honoured for their contributions to national progress.
Some of the awardees include Kanyo Awani, Awuneba Ajumogobia, Nkiru Anumudu, Dr Shade Okoya, Emem Usoro, Evelyn Oputu, Dr Kate Isa, Hadiza Bala Usman, Dr Doris Uzoko-Anite, Natasha Akpoti-Uduaghan, Jumoke Oduwole, Fola Laoye, Dr Hadiza Balarabe, Hanattu Musawa, Helen Prest-Ajayi, Joke Bakare, Uju Ifejika, Adaeze Dozie, Daisy Danjuma, and Naomi Campwell.
Also honoured were Ijeoma Nwogwugwu, Oby Ezekwesili, Balanle Austin-Peters, Ngozi Alaegbu, Oluremi Tinubu, Margret Ochalla, Chinwe Iloghalu, Miriam Olusanya, Justice Jane Inyang, Ofovwe AIG Imoukhuede, Renee Folawiyo, Toyin Saraki, Chioma Ude, Ojinika Okpe, Chief Nike Okundaye, Ruth Osime, Kofo Akinkugbe, Amina Maina, Kadaria Ahmed, Olu Arowolo Verheijen, and Dr Juliet Ehimuan.
The event highlighted how the success of women not only breaks barriers but also inspires future generations.
Special tributes were given to pioneering figures like Queen Idia, Funmilayo Ransome-Kuti, and Dr. Stella Adadevoh by Eka and Efe Obaigben, twin daughters of ARISE News Group Chairman Prince Nduka Obaigbena,
The event was hosted by Bovi Ugboma and anchored by Rolake Akinkugbe-Filani. It featured stirring speeches, moving tributes, and memorable musical performances by Teni and Asa.
Former President Goodluck Jonathan was also given the Lifetime Achievement Award he missed at the previous THISDAY Awards event.
Speaking on the critical role of women’s empowerment in driving national progress, he said, “ We can’t abandon women and expect progress.”
At the close of the gala, Chinwe Obaigbena, wife of Prince Nduka Obaigbena, Chairman and Publisher of ARISE News Group delivered the vote of thanks. She expressed heartfelt gratitude to everyone who played a part in the event’s success.
