Tinubu Cancels June 12 Broadcast – To Address NASS Instead

Presidential National Broadcast by President Bola Tinubu, originally planned for 7 am on June 12 to mark Democracy Day, has been cancelled.

Gatekeepers Newreports that Segun Imohiosen, the Director of Information and Public Relations, released the information in a statement.

The cancellation is attributed to President Tinubu’s commitment to attend a joint session of the National Assembly on Thursday.

The President is anticipated to deliver his address during the National Assembly session.

“Due to H.E President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, GCFR, scheduled attendance at the National Assembly Joint Session, the Presidential National Broadcast on June 12 has been cancelled.

“President Bola Ahmed will deliver his address from the National Assembly. All other plans are in order as announced earlier,” the statement read in part.

Meanwhile, according to an earlier statement by the Inter-Ministerial Committee on Democracy Day, there will be no Democracy Day parade and a public lecture on the celebration will be held at the State House Conference Centre, Abuja, at 4 p.m.
