Dalori Dismisses Coalition Threat – Vows to Unite APC Ahead of 2027

Ali Bukar Dalori, the acting national chairman of All Progressives Congress (APC), has said that opposition coalitions don’t threaten the party’s hold on power in the 2027 elections.

Gatekeepers News reports that during an interview with BBC Hausa, Dalori stressed his commitment to strengthening internal unity and leading the APC to victory.

The chairman said his priority would be reconciling party members across all levels including state, ward, and local governments.

He said, “I must rise and show all APC politicians that I have done my best to reconcile those who have had issues with one another.”

“I will sit with them or appoint representatives who will go and meet them to prepare for this journey, which is greater than before, because politics needs people, and people need to be cared for in politics.”

Commenting on the party’s national convention, Dalori said no date has been set yet, noting that consultations with party elders and stakeholders are still ongoing.

He said, “ There are elders we must consult, and they are the ones to give the directive on whether the convention should hold or not.”

Dalori acknowledged that the party is facing some difficulties, especially in parts of the North-East, but expressed confidence that the APC remains cohesive and resilient.

The chairman also attributed recent defections from opposition parties to the APC to political survival.

He said, “I’m not hiding anything — they were afraid. If they had stayed there, they wouldn’t contest elections. They joined us so that their needs could be met.”

Reacting to recent efforts by opposition parties to form a coalition, Dalori dismissed the move as insignificant.

“ I believe the expected implosion will not happen because we have sewn it together with a strong thread that will not break.”

“Nobody is talking about a coalition except in Abuja. Even in Abuja, they are in a hotel, and when they are defeated in elections, they will leave the country.”
