FG – Amazon Launches Free Digital Skills Programme For Tertiary Institutions

Federal Government has partnered with Amazon Web Services (AWS) to roll out a nationwide digital skills programme.

Gatekeepers News reports that the partnership will offer free training and certification in cloud computing, artificial intelligence (AI), machine learning, and related technologies.

In a statement via X on Saturday, the Ministry of Education said the initiative aims to equip students and educators with globally relevant digital competencies.

The statement reads, “Big move for Nigeria’s education. Under the Renewed Hope Agenda, the programme will be rolled out to all federal, state, and private tertiary institutions.”

“The best part? Certification is 100 percent free, split between the Ministry and AWS. Let’s bridge the digital divide, #Skills4All #Education.”

The programme, already live in 43 federal universities and polytechnics, is now expanding to include all state and private tertiary institutions.

Vice-chancellors, rectors, and provosts have been directed to submit the details of their nominated coordinators via a dedicated registration form, no later than Friday, July 19, 2025, at 5 PM.
