Former All Progressives Congress (APC) national chairman, John Oyegun, has joined the African Democratic Congress (ADC) in Edo State.
Gatekeepers News reports that Oyegun received his membership card on Tuesday from the party’s state chairman, Kennedy Odion, in Benin City.
According to Odion, Oyegun’s experience in forming coalitions will be valuable in the party’s efforts to redeem the nation from its economic challenges. “He has put together what is called a coalition before, and he succeeded,” Odion said.
Oyegun revealed that his group conducted extensive research before settling for ADC, considering about seven parties. “We talked to a lot of parties… but we have not seen a party as dedicated as the ADC,” he said.
The former APC chairman blamed the ruling party for the country’s hunger, starvation, and insecurity. “The country has never been so divided as it is under the present leadership of Bola Tinubu,” Oyegun added.
He dismissed rumors that ADC plans to disrupt the government, saying the party’s aim is to rescue Nigerians. Oyegun also claimed that ADC is growing rapidly, with more notable politicians joining soon.
“We are growing by the day, we are growing by the week. We are growing by the month… ADC is now a mix of the best of the PDP and the APC,” he said.
