All Progressives Congress (APC) has inaugurated a 1,800-member campaign council ahead of the November 8 governorship election in Anambra State.
Gatekeepers News reports that speaking during the inauguration ceremony in Awka on Tuesday, APC National Chairman, Nentawe Yilwatda, represented by Ijeoma Arodiogbu, the party’s South-East Vice Chairman, expressed confidence that APC has the capacity to unseat Governor Chukwuma Soludo of All Progressives Grand Alliance (APGA).
Arodiogbu said, “Anambra is very dear to the APC national leadership. We carefully selected each of you because we believe you can deliver this mandate.”
“We are going for nothing short of victory, and to achieve that, you must redouble your efforts. With the support of South-East APC, Governor Hope Uzodimma, our national leadership, and President Bola Tinubu, victory is within reach.”
He noted that the party would also inaugurate campaign structures across senatorial districts, local governments, wards, and polling units to strengthen its grassroots mobilisation.
APC’s governorship candidate, Nicholas Ukachukwu, urged members and residents of the state to rally behind him, pledging to provide a secure environment that will improve the business climate in Anambra.
He also promised to establish a gas power plant to harness the state’s gas resources for industrial development and to transform the agricultural sector through mechanisation and insurance-driven policies.
Dozie Ikedife, Director-General of the campaign council, assured that the council would deliver Ukachukwu as governor and Uche Ekwunife as his deputy in the upcoming election.
