Police Nab 4 Suspects For One Chance Robbery – Kidnapping Attempt In Abuja

Federal Capital Territory (FCT) Police Command has apprehended four individuals allegedly involved in a one chance robbery and an attempted kidnapping in Abuja.

Gatekeepers News reports that in a statement on Sunday, the command’s spokesperson, Josephine Adeh, disclosed that the suspects were arrested on October 9 in Dape Village after a fierce encounter with officers from the Life Camp Division. She added that two kidnap victims were successfully rescued during the operation.

Adeh noted that the operation was launched after police received a distress call from a victim who had been abducted by the gang, which demanded a ₦1 million ransom for her release.

She said, “Upon receipt of the report, police operatives from Life Camp Division immediately swung into action.”

“Through the deployment of digital and tactical intelligence, on 9th October 2025, at about 4:30 a.m., the suspects were arrested at Dape Village after a near-deadly confrontation with the police.”

According to her, one of the rescued victims, who sustained multiple stab wounds, was taken to Gwarinpa General Hospital for treatment.

The arrested suspects were Solomon Tanko, Samuel Audu, Chigozie Joseph, and Emmanuel Chidiebere.

Preliminary investigations revealed that the group had been operating around the Bannex and Kado areas of the city, where they allegedly used a tinted vehicle to lure unsuspecting passengers. Adeh said the suspects confessed to robbing at least six victims before their arrest.

Items recovered from them include 15 international passports, two daggers, two cutlasses, bloodstained documents, four mobile phones, two hammers, and three biros.

Adeh added that the suspects will be charged in court after the investigation concludes.
