Samuel Anyanwu, National Secretary of Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), has petitioned Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC), Department of State Services (DSS), and Nigeria Police Force over the alleged forgery and cloning of his signature on a party document.

Gatekeepers News reports that the three petitions dated October 15, 2025, Anyanwu alleged that a falsified letter, purportedly sent to INEC in connection with the PDP’s forthcoming 2025 elective national convention, carried a forged version of his signature.

The letter in question, referenced PDP/DOM/GF.2/Vol.1M/25-140 and dated August 25, 2025, was reportedly submitted to INEC without his knowledge or consent. Anyanwu described the discovery as shocking, insisting that he never signed or authorised the document.

The politician wrote, “Regrettably, the quoted letter was never signed, authorised, or known to me. It is shocking to have a forged or cloned version of my signature on the letter.”

He called on the heads of INEC, DSS, and the Nigeria Police Force to conduct a thorough investigation into what he termed a criminal act and to prosecute those involved.

Anyanwu added, “I therefore request that this criminal conduct by officers of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) and their collaborators within INEC be investigated and the culprits prosecuted.”

Copies of the petitions, which contained excerpts of the alleged forged document, were acknowledged by the three agencies between October 15 and 16.

Anyanwu said he took the step to safeguard the integrity of the PDP and ensure that falsified documents are not used in official communications with electoral or security institutions.

His petitions come amid internal wrangling within the party as preparations intensify for the 2025 national convention.
