All Progressives Congress (APC) has refuted claims circulating on social media about a purported timetable for its upcoming congresses.
Gatekeepers News reports that over the weekend, several social media posts featuring images and details of supposed schedules for ward, local government, state, and national congresses went viral.
The posts also listed alleged nomination fees for various party positions and a proposed date for the national convention.
In a statement on Sunday, Felix Morka, the APC’s national spokesperson, dismissed the reports as fabricated information.
The statement reads, “The attention of the All Progressives Congress (APC) has been drawn to the so-called ‘APC 2025 Schedule of Nationwide Congresses and Related Activities’ circulating online.”
“Our great party wishes to state categorically that this alleged schedule was neither issued nor approved by the party. It should therefore be ignored as FAKE NEWS.”
Meanwhile, speculations persist that the ruling party might hold a national convention before the end of 2025 to reconstitute its National Working Committee ahead of 2027 general elections.
