Stakeholders of African Democratic Congress (ADC) party members on Sunday converged in Maiduguri to strategise ahead of the forthcoming governorship and presidential elections, insisting that the party has all it takes to secure victory at the polls.
Gatekeepers News reports that the party members bemoaned the worsening security situation in the state and across the country, calling on the government at all levels to take decisive and coordinated action to address the challenges and ensure the safety of lives and property.
This was disclosed during a 3rd- Day Sallah felicitation organised by party members in honour of one of its chieftains, Hon. Attom Magira.
The occasion, which took place at Magira’s family house located in Gwange, Maiduguri, the state capital, attracted many party loyalists, mostly women and youths, including the ADC State Chairman, Hon. Mohammed Umar Bolori.
According to Attom Magira, who expressed deep appreciation for the honour, which he described as the first of its kind in Borno’s political history assured the people that he would continue to work tirelessly in their best interest.
He enjoined the gathering and other party faithful to use the Sallah celebrations, which also coincided with the Christian Lenten period to pray for peace not only in the state but the nation in general.
He also, on behalf of the National Chairman of ADC, Senator David Mark, one of the national leaders of the party, former Vice- President Atiku Abubakar and Former Kaduna state governor, Nasir El-rufai and the Borno supreme leader of ADC, Ibrahim Mattawali Kashim Imam to commiserate with the people over the devastated suicide attacks in some parts of Maiduguri Metropolis.
The ADC Chieftain enjoined the people of Borno state to have a united front, join the ADC to bring about the desired change.
