Kwankwaso To Formally Join ADC On Monday

Rabiu Musa Kwankwaso, former Governor of Kano State, is set to formally join the African Democratic Congress (ADC) on Monday, marking a major shift ahead of the 2027 general elections.

Gatekeepers News reports that the announcement was made by the Kwankwasiyya movement, which confirmed that the former presidential candidate of New Nigeria Peoples Party (NNPP)will officially defect to ADC during a ceremony scheduled to hold in Kano.

Kwankwaso is expected to be accompanied by several loyalists and members of the NNPP, signalling a broader political realignment as preparations for the next general election intensify.

The planned defection comes shortly after a meeting between Kwankwaso and Rauf Aregbesola, the national secretary of ADC, at his residence in Abuja, an engagement that further fuelled speculation about his move to the party.

Speculation about the switch had earlier gained traction during the Kwankwasiyya Eid gathering in Kano, where supporters openly hinted at new political alliances ahead of 2027.
