Rabiu Musa Kwankwaso has officially joined African Democratic Congress (ADC) ahead of the 2027 general elections.
Gatekeepers News reports tnag that Kwankwaso formalised his membership on Monday in Kano, where he registered with the party and received his membership card at Kwankwasiyya House.
The event drew the presence of key political figures, including David Mark, who currently serves as the national chairman of the ADC, alongside other prominent politicians and party stakeholders.
His defection follows his resignation from the New Nigeria Peoples Party (NNPP), the platform on which he contested the 2023 presidential election.
Announcing his exit from the NNPP, Kwankwaso said, “I wish to formally announce my resignation from the New Nigeria People’s Party (NNPP) with immediate effect.”
He added, “I seize this opportunity to express my profound gratitude for the honour and privilege of serving as the party’s national leader and its presidential candidate in the 2023 general elections.”
