The African Democratic Congress (ADC) in Ogun State has disowned a purported “Apex Committee” reportedly operating within the party, declaring that the group is not part of its constitutional structure.
Gatekeepers News reports that in a statement issued by the state leadership, the party cautioned members, stakeholders, and the public against taking directives or information from the said body, describing it as unauthorized and unknown to the official leadership.
“The so-called Apex Committee is not known to or recognized by the party leadership in Ogun State. Members are advised to disregard any information or directives emanating from such a body,” the statement read.
The party also announced that the contest for the position of Deputy Financial Secretary between Hon. Dimeji Fabiyi and Hon. Rotimi George-Taylor has been suspended by the National Executive Committee (NEC), pending further directives.
Despite the suspension, the ADC confirmed that the screening of all aspirants will proceed as scheduled, alongside other planned congress activities.
The leadership reiterated its commitment to due process, transparency, and strict adherence to the party’s constitution, urging members to remain calm, law-abiding, and focused on unity and progress.
The statement was jointly signed by the Ogun State Chairman, Otunba Dr. Femi Soluade, and the State Secretary, Hon. Adebiyi Olusoji.
