Plateau Slams Terrorism Charges On 5 Suspects Over Jos Killings

LPlateau State government has filed terrorism-related charges against five suspects linked to the killing of dozens of people in Jos.

Gatekeepers News reports that the suspects were arrested by the Department of State Services (DSS) over the attack which occurred in Angwan Rukuba, a community in Jos North Local Government Area.  

The incident, which took place in March 2026, saw gunmen storm a popular bar in the area, killing several people and leaving many others injured.  

The state government filed the charges weeks after President Bola Ahmed Tinubu visited Plateau and assured residents that those responsible would be brought to justice.  

Among those charged are Isa Umar Ibrahim, Auwalu Abubakar (also known as Auwalu Dogo), and Musa Abubakar Ibrahim (also known as Yaroro), who are accused of conspiracy and involvement in terrorism-related offences.  

Another defendant, Adamu Isa Alhassan, is facing additional charges including culpable homicide, illegal possession of firearms, and unlawful dealing in arms and ammunition.  

The Plateau State Attorney General, Philemon Daffi, who filed the case, said the suspects allegedly planned, funded, and facilitated the attack, which led to the death of over 30 people.
