Engr. Ishaku Ibrahim Mshelizza on Wednesday reiterated his commitment to clinching the House of Representatives ticket for the Askira-Uba/Hawul Federal Constituency under the All Progressives Congress (APC), expressing confidence that he would defeat any opponent in the party’s primary election slated for May 15.
Gatekeepers News reports that Mshelizza, who was greeted by a mammoth crowd during his grand entry into his hometown in Hawul Local Government Area, said the majority of his party’s stakeholders and supporters are solidly behind him, stressing that there is no cause for alarm.
This was contained in a letter personally written by Engr. Mshelizza to his constituents, urging them to remain steadfast, united, and committed to the ideals of the All Progressives Congress (APC) ahead of the forthcoming primary election. He assured them of his determination to provide purposeful representation and grassroots-driven leadership if elected.
According to him, “.over time, we have collectively championed the cause of securing purposeful and quality representation for the good people of Askira-Uba/Hawul Federal Constituency. This journey has not been without sacrifices, challenges, intimidation, and numerous obstacles. Yet, through unity, resilience, and commitment, we have continued to stand firm in pursuit of a better future for our people.
“My decision to answer the call to serve and contest in the 2026/2027 Primary and General Elections was not a personal ambition, but a collective decision inspired by the aspirations and yearnings of our constituents.
“Countless supporters and stakeholders have dedicated their time, resources, energy, and unwavering support to this movement. Together with my team, we have continued to engage our people across the constituency to reaffirm our commitment to serving with purpose, integrity, and dignity.
“Service to the people has always remained the driving force behind this journey, never personal gratification, but a sincere passion to contribute meaningfully to the development and progress of our constituency.
“I have successfully obtained the Nomination and Expression of Interest Forms to contest for the position of Member, House of Representatives under the All Progressives Congress (APC). I also underwent the party’s screening process and emerged successfully.
While I received appeals regarding a possible consensus arrangement a development that reflects the growing support and recognition of this movement, such decisions must ultimately be built on mutual consent, fairness, and the collective will of the people.
After wide consultations, my supporters and I have resolved to remain in the race and participate fully in the APC Primary Election scheduled for May 15th.
I respectfully call on the leadership of our great party in Borno State to uphold the confidence, trust, and integrity that the people have invested in the APC by ensuring a free, fair, transparent, and credible primary election in Askira-Uba/Hawul Constituency, that will truly reflect the wishes of party members and constituents.
