Family of late Nollywood actor Alexx Ekubo has announced plans for his burial, with funeral rites scheduled to conclude on June 18, 2026, in Arochukwu, Abia State.
Gatekeepers News reports that in a statement shared on the actor’s official Instagram page on Monday, the family said the late movie star, who passed away on May 11 at the age of 40, would be honoured through a series of ceremonies involving family members, friends, colleagues, fans, and well-wishers.
The statement, signed by Mazi Alex Oji Ekubo Okwaraeke on behalf of the Ekubo-Okwaraeke family, described the late actor as a man remembered for “love, warmth, generosity, laughter, and an unwavering devotion to God and the people he cherished”.
The family also expressed gratitude for the support and condolences received since the actor’s death.
“The overwhelming outpouring of love, prayers, messages, visits, calls, support, and strength shown to the family during this painful period has been truly humbling,” the statement read in part.
According to the funeral programme released by the family, a service of songs will take place on June 10 at The Monarch Event Centre in Lekki, Lagos, between 4 p.m. and 6 p.m. Guests attending the event have been asked to wear white.
A wake keep will follow on June 17 at the family residence in Aziukwukwa, Ujari Village, Arochukwu, Abia State, ahead of the final burial ceremony on June 18.
