Victor Ochei Resigns From APC

Former Speaker of the Delta State House of Assembly, Victor Ochei, has resigned from the All Progressives Congress (APC), bringing an end to his decade-long membership of the party.

Gatekeepers News reports that in a resignation letter addressed to the APC chairman of Ward 4 in Onicha-Olona, Ochei said his decision followed “careful reflection and personal consideration,” adding that the resignation takes immediate effect.

He appreciated the party leadership and members for the opportunity to serve and for the support extended to him during his time in the APC.

In a separate exit statement, the former lawmaker said he joined the APC in 2016 with a strong belief in the party’s vision and worked over the years to strengthen its structures and expand its reach across communities.

According to him, he and other party faithful contributed to grassroots mobilization, youth and women participation, and democratic growth within Delta State and beyond.

Ochei noted that leadership must continue to evolve with inclusion, fairness, and respect for the aspirations of the people, stressing that his decision to leave the APC was driven by his desire to continue his political journey on a new path.

He maintained that his resignation was not motivated by bitterness or hostility, but by his commitment to service and progress.

The former Speaker also thanked his supporters, political associates, and stakeholders who stood by him throughout his stay in the party, urging them to remain peaceful and committed to democratic ideals as he moves forward politically.
