Gunmen have abducted a nine-year-old boy after attacking residents of Ugbosi Quarters in Idogun, Ido-Ani, Ose Local Government Area of Ondo State.

Gatekeepers News reports that the incident occurred in the early hours of Friday when the assailants reportedly stormed the community and unleashed terror on residents.  

According to reports, the attackers invaded the home of a pastor in the community and whisked away his son, identified as Olaosebikan Victor. Several residents were said to have sustained injuries while attempting to escape during the attack.  

Witnesses said panic spread across the community as the gunmen operated for several minutes before fleeing with the child. The attack has heightened concerns over the growing spate of kidnappings and violent crimes in parts of Ondo State.  

The Ondo State Police Command confirmed the abduction and said security operatives have launched a manhunt for the kidnappers. Authorities also assured residents that efforts are underway to rescue the victim and bring those responsible to justice.  

The latest incident comes amid rising security concerns in several communities across the country, with residents calling for increased security presence to curb the menace of kidnapping and other violent crimes.
